Exemption Application Information - Bradford County Florida Property Appraiser According to the Florida state statutes, there are exemptions available to residents in Bradford County. However, the applications for these exemeptions need to be submitted between the 1st of Jan. – 1st of March along with proof of residency and proof of identification like a driving license, or voter registration card etc. to the Bradford County Property Appraiser’s office. After the submission of the initial application, most of the exemptions are automatically renewed by the system at the Bradford County Property Appraiser’s office. So you no longer have to worry about losing your exemptions just because you forgot to renew it once. Nevertheless, some exemptions do require close monitoring from you, so that you remember to renew them every after year. One important thing is that if you fail to submit your application to the Bradford County Property Appraiser by the 1st of March, then you will not be able to use this provision. However, you can again seek an exemption next year. Bradford County Property Appraiser's other Exemptions: Disabled Veterans Exemption The Disabled are eligible for an exemption of $5,000. Those veterans who became disabled at work, and have been rated by the Veterans Administration at 10% - 90% disabled, shall get a discount of $5,000 in property value. The discount has been increased from $500. Widowers or Widows Exemption Those widows or widowers, who are permanent residents of Florida and have not been remarried, shall get $5,000 as exemption in property value. According to the Bradford County Property Appraiser if the couple were separated or divorced and then died, the survivor shall not be considered a widow or widower. However, be prepared to produce a death certificate of the deceased partner while filing for discount. Permanent Disability Exemption For those Florida residents who have 100% disability or total and permanent disability, the exemption amount as stated in law is $500. The Bradford County Property Appraiser’s office requires certification from a Florida physician or from the Department of Veteran’s Affairs. Blind Persons Exemption A total of $500 exemption shall be given to the blind residents of Florida. A certificate from a Florida doctor, the Division of Blind Services or Department of Veteran’s Affairs needs to be submitted by the applicant at the Bradford County Property Appraiser’s office.
