Every petition to the VAB costs $15.00 for which the forms are available with the Indian River County Property Appraiser office.

A petition to the VAB can be made till the 25th day when the Indian River County Property Appraiser issued the TRIM. The Value Adjustment Board hires the services of qualified appraisers who are independent of the Indian River County Property Appraiser office.

The VAB can only determine whether the appraised value exceeds as on January 1st by the Indian River County Property Appraiser. It is possible to get a reduction if the owner can furnish evidence that the property was over valued by the Indian River County Property Appraiser as on January 1st of that year.
